🌟 The Importance of hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Storefronts Engineering team. This role will allow you to act as an individual contributor and mentor as part of a team of engineers building services for Carewell.

Carewell.com is visited by >1M people each month. These consumers are seeking products and advice related to caring for themselves or a loved one. Often they are “informal”, meaning they have jobs, families and other responsibilities requiring much time and attention. Our goal is to lessen the burden of caring for the ones we love by leveraging our considerable knowledge of care plans, products and services to anticipate REAL NEEDS. We must devise fit-for-purpose solutions that deliver unique value to our consumers sensing and responding efficiently and effectively.

We expect you to bring 5+ years of relevant experience, exceptional soft skills and both understanding and appreciation for the hard skills required to build the right things, the right way. ✅ Here’s what we’ll want you to do…

• Implement new features and services, API’s and functions which drive customer acquisition and conversion
• Improve resiliency of internal technology platforms and services
• Optimize code and process improvements
• Reduce technical debt and mitigate bugs
• Analyze build vs. buy value for software tools with goal of  balancing time to market and maintenance/cost
• Lead and participate in regular code review process
• Support quality assurance through manual regression testing
• Mentor and be mentored by others on the team

🛠 We think this means you probably…

• 5+ years of experience building clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of web accessibility and conformance
• Highly proficient in SEO and performance optimization
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, team atmosphere
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred technologies: React, TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, AWS or GCP
