Thousand is looking for a creative, self-starting Content and Social Media Manager to help us grow our organic social presence and strengthen our connection to the people who ride with us. 

You’ll help shape how Thousand shows up online by creating original content, highlighting our community, and supporting product launches in a way that feels authentic.

This is not a role for someone who simply schedules posts. We're looking for someone who is excited to create, experiment, and help shape the future of Thousand's social presence.

You’ll report directly to the Creative Director and work closely with our marketing team to plan, create, and publish content across Instagram, TikTok and other social platforms.

This is a part-time (approximately 5-10 per week/ 25-40 hours per month), remote-friendly role, with occasional content capture opportunities in Los Angeles. Budget: $1,500–$3,000/month depending on scope and  experience. 

Content Creation and Storytelling (45%)
  • Film and edit short-form content using iPhone, CapCut, or similar tools.
  • Develop and pitch content ideas, recurring series, and storytelling opportunities that align with Thousand’s brand, community, and business priorities.
  • Capture content during occasional photoshoots, events, rides, activations, and community gatherings (flexible for the right candidate, if you’re not based in LA).
  • Support product launches with organic content that feels integrated into everyday life and culture.

Social Strategy and Planning (40%)
  • Identify emerging trends, creators, and opportunities relevant to Thousand
  • Own and maintain the organic social calendar via Asana
  • Track performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement, reach, and community sentiment.
  • Participate in regular content, marketing, and planning meetings (approx 3-4 per month) to align on priorities and campaigns, contribute ideas, and share learnings.

Community Building (15%)
  • Respond to comments and engage with our audience across social platforms
  • Build relationships with creators, ambassadors, customers, retailers, and community partners to source content and storytelling opportunities.
  • Coordinate giveaways and community driven activations when applicable

What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years experience in social media, content creation, community management or related field with strong creative instincts and an eye for compelling stories, visuals, and cultural moments
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and short-form video storytelling
  • Experience filming and editing content for social platforms
  • You know the difference between chasing trends and contributing something meaningful to a conversation
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and turning loose ideas into finished content
  • Interest in cycling, urban mobility, design, lifestyle brands, or community storytelling is a plus

Within the first year, this person will help::

  • Establish recurring content series that audiences recognize and return to.
  • Increase engagement, reach, and conversation across Thousand's organic channels.
  • Make the Thousand community more visible through creator, ambassador, customer, retailer, and partner storytelling.
  • Build a more consistent and recognizable voice across social platforms.
  • Support product launches with organic content that feels authentic, culturally relevant, and shareable.
