Part-Time AI Product Designer (Homemade Apps)

Playful is an AI that lets anyone make and share their own apps.

We need a designer to build a library of beautiful homemade apps for our gallery.

‍

You'll design and build apps across a range of categories and visual styles to show people what's possible with Playful. We'll pair you with a QA partner, but you should be handing off work that's already solid.

This is a part-time, contract role.

What You'll Need

• A love of making things. We have plenty of app ideas to start with, but over time we want someone who brings their own. Someone who thinks of a solution to a problem, or a game that would be fun to play, and wants to build it.
• Strong, versatile design sense. Airtight fundamentals (spacing, alignment, hierarchy, typography) and the ability to move across aesthetic styles.
• Enough technical awareness to QA your own work. You understand how software behaves well enough to catch functional issues before they get to QA.

What Would Make You a Great Fit

• You get why homemade matters. If you knit, cook, build, or just understand what it means to make something by hand for someone you care about, that comes through in the work.
• You know what real family life looks like. The best apps in our gallery will actually serve households. Familiarity with the real needs of family life is a meaningful advantage.
