Senior Database Architecture Consultant

The Hive (https://hivecollective.co) is hiring a Senior Database Architecture Consultant to help our customer resolve their current growing pains. The existing database design is showing its age in the face of a growing userbase, shifting schema requirements, and increasing storage & faster access requirements.

You will work in a startup environment, with a tight-knit US-based team where everyone helps everyone else succeed.

The work will involve rethinking and reworking various aspects of the database layer to improve speed, reliability and cost objectives. This is a hybrid DBA+ops role where you'll need to think about sharding, read-only replicas, query performance monitoring/graphing, SQL query optimization, zero downtime schema migrations, automated backup / backup validation / DR procedures, etc.

Build using a modern stack: AWS RDS, Postgres, Elasticsearch, React, GraphQL, REST, Python/Django, Docker/K8s

This is a consultant level role where you're expected to guide senior DBAs and DevOps engineers through database and storage architecture challenges.
